The biggest Story Night yet at the beautiful Bennington Center for the Arts! Five storytellers put their lives on the line as we listen through the laughs and the tears. The Review brings together some favorite tellers and puts them on the stage for a night. Who knows, stories may ruffle some feathers, make us laugh or cringe but these are the stories of our neighbors, friends and perfect strangers. These are stories we all can understand and feel because it is from those closest to us.
Every month, over the last two years, Story Night has been an incredibly honest and funny event in Bennington Vermont. Ten people put their first name on a board and come up to the mic and share a small piece of themselves. This is unscripted and completely spontaneous. I never know what to expect. It’s never the same experience twice.
Building on incredible podcasts like the Moth Radio Hour, and RISK! Story Night is a Vermont show that delivers a night of local raw truth from local people without the help of notes and props every month. Only a microphone and a little courage. There have been stories leaving the audience stunned in quiet anticipation, laughing uncontrollably in their seats, or tears in their eyes. This evening is guaranteed to move you and hopefully make you want to get up and give it a try at our monthly event. There will be some great prizes. Proceeds to support the curation and execution of murals in Bennington.
Local craft brews and delicious mixers served by Spirits of Old Bennington. Appetizers too. Shuttles available for those who need it. Please send a message using the Contact form below or call 802-430-2008 to make arrangements.
What Is Bennington Murals?
Bennington Mural Art Program is a community driven initiative to create professional art on our walls. Forest Byrd is an artist and illustrator who will be doing some of the work to get this off the ground and eventually work with many other artists to create dynamic art spaces. Many places are sited and in the planning stages.
We are working on concepts that will tell interesting stories of Bennington and be a surprise for residents and visitors to see. For more information check us out on Facebook or after August 18th at BenningtonMurals.com.
Through events like this, your participation and good will, and the help of enthusiastic business partners, we can get this done. Your support is what will make it work. Being a sponsor will be a great marketing tool. Your logo can be printed on the back of our shirts so when we are working, people will see that you support the mural program. Thank you everyone who believe in art and wish to see a vibrant artistic culture where Bennington is at the center.
You are part of the new story.
